October 2008 Meeting Information

October 14, 2008
Technical Overview of the Google Web Toolkit (GWT)

This month, Paul Furbacher will be presenting a technical overview of the Google Web Toolkit (GWT). Writing web apps today is a tedious and error-prone process. Developers can spend 90% of their time working around browser quirks. In addition, building, reusing, and maintaining large JavaScript code bases and AJAX components can be difficult and fragile. GWT eases this burden by allowing developers to quickly build and maintain complex yet highly performant JavaScript front-end applications in the Java programming language.

Also, one (1) free pass to Computing Among the Clouds conference along with two (2) licenses for IntelliJ IDEA will be raffled off at the end of the meeting!

Meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month at the Scotch Plains Rescue Squad second floor meeting hall starting promptly at 7:30pm. Meetings are open to the public, and visitors are encouraged to join ACGNJ.
