Spring Roo – Developer Productivity Tool for Spring Developers

This month, we welcome Ken Rimple, Director of Education Services from Chariot Solutions, who will make a presentation on Spring Roo. Spring Roo is a tool that helps developers build Spring-based applications rapidly. Using AspectJ, annotations, and a command-line/IDE shell, Roo generates your Spring configuration files, installs major features such as Spring MVC, WebFlow, Flex, GWT, JMS, e-mail and JPA in a matter of seconds. Roo has a central add-on directory, and a lot of interest from within the Spring community. Come see Ken give an overview of the current state of the tool and discuss topics such as persistence/JPA and database reverse engineering, user interface development, and integration with RIAs. Ken is authoring Spring Roo in Action from Manning Publications, which is in MEAP status and can be downloaded from manning.com/rimple.

Meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month at the Scotch Plains Rescue Squad second floor meeting hall starting promptly at 7:30pm. Meetings are open to the public, and visitors are encouraged to join ACGNJ.
