The "Politics" of Java

Don't let the title of this month's meeting fool you. We plan to have some political fun that includes Java as opposed to political fun about Java.

Some of you long-time members (you know who you are) will recall the October 2004 meeting where we spent most of the meeting time discussing the upcoming election ignoring the topic for the month, Dynamic Sorting with Java. With that same spirit for this year's Presidential election, we can discuss politics and review some Java/JavaScript code related to politics. Getting started, check out Dave Leip's Atlas of U.S. Presidential Elections. You can view election results dating back to 1789 and if you register, you can participate in a mock election!

By-the-way, the title of this month's meeting was inspired by the song, The Politics of Dancing, performed by the British New Wave band, Re-Flex, released in 1983. Lead singer, John Baxter sings, "...the politicians are now DJ's..."

Meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month at the Scotch Plains Rescue Squad second floor meeting hall starting promptly at 7:30pm. Meetings are open to the public, and visitors are encouraged to join ACGNJ.
